About the company registry
One list of 550 data, AI and tech companies shared by every fru.dev directory site: name, domain, logo, a short bio, category, headquarters, founding year, public or private status, ticker and SEC CIK, with a link to each company's page on the earnings, releases, funding, acquisitions and conference sites.
Facts from linked public sources. Logos via logo.dev; trademarks belong to their owners.
Where does the company data come from?
Each company first appears on one of the fru.dev sites (earnings, releases, funding, acquisitions, tech conferences). Tickers and CIKs come from the SEC company list, founding year, headquarters and profiles from Wikidata, and bios from the English Wikipedia summary or the company itself. Every fact links to its source; anything no source gave is left blank.
How often is it updated?
A sync runs every night at 06:15 UTC. It reads every fru.dev site, records each company page it finds, and queues companies it has not seen before for a human to review before they are published.
Is there an API?
Yes, open and free: /api/companies for the list (with ?since= for incremental sync), /api/companies/<slug> for one company, /api/companies.json for everything, and /api/resolve?domain= or ?name= to find a company's canonical slug.
How are companies matched across sites?
By website domain first, then by name. Each company has one canonical slug, its name in lowercase ASCII joined by hyphens (hugging-face, dbt-labs), and every site's own key for it resolves to that slug.
Something is wrong or missing. How do I fix it?
Use "Suggest a correction" on the company's page, or "Suggest a company" on the directory. Every suggestion is checked against a source before anything changes, and an accepted correction reaches every fru.dev site through the API.
